Our Story

At 5 Frenchies Old North Dayton Bakery, we’re passionate about bringing the joy of handcrafted pastries and baked goods to our community. Founded by Patrick Parin, a Dayton native with a lifelong love of baking, our bakery is rooted in family tradition, culinary craftsmanship, and community spirit.

Patrick’s journey began in childhood, inspired by treasured memories baking cookies with his late grandmother. That early spark grew into a dedicated pursuit of culinary excellence — from graduating from Sinclair Community College’s culinary and pastry arts programs to hands-on experience in Dayton’s café and restaurant scene.

Located on historic Troy Street in Old North Dayton, our bakery continues a century-long tradition of sweet and savory delights at this beloved corner. We honor that legacy by offering classic favorites — like doughnuts, Danishes, kolache cookies, coconut macaroons, cream horns, and cinnamon rolls — while gradually introducing Patrick’s own inspired creations.

The name “5 Frenchies” is a heartfelt tribute to the five French bulldogs Patrick has had throughout his life — a symbol of warmth, personality, and community connection that we bring into every day at the bakery.

More than just great baked goods, we’re committed to exceptional customer service and becoming a welcoming gathering spot for Daytonians near and far. We’re proud to accept custom cake orders, serve wholesale partners, and offer opportunities to support local talent — including future collaborations with culinary students.

At 5 Frenchies, we blend tradition, creativity, and heart — one freshly baked bite at a time.
